6000 runners have signed up

The 2019 Íslandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon takes place on Saturday August 24th. Registration for the race is in full swing and around 6000 participants have already signed up, 4000 Icelandic runners and 2000 from other countries.

The participants coming from outside Iceland have 73 different nationalities and most of them are from USA, 547 registered participants, and second most from UK, 189. Registered runners from Germany are 185 and 122 from Canada.

It is recommended to register online here on the race website since the late entry fee at the EXPO is 20% higher.

The Islandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon is organized by Reykjavik Sports Union, a union of sports clubs in Reykjavik. Other events organized by the Reykjavik Sports Union are: Laugavegur Ultra Marathon in July, Suzuki Midnight Sun Run in June, Reykjavik International Games in January and the Northern Lights Run in February.
