Pace makers 2019

In the 2019 Islandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon runners are offered help to reach their goals in the 10 km run, half marathon and marathon. Pace makers will run these distances at an even speed. They will be wearing marked vests and carrying balloons so that runners can follow them.

The pace makers are all trained runners that will run at the following times:

10 km race

40 minutes Ívar Trausti Jósafatsson
45 minutes Gísli Páll Reynisson and Eiríkur Ragnarsson
50 minutes Kristinn Jóhannsson and Snorri Arnar Viðarsson
55 minutes Ásta Laufey Aðalsteins and Sigríður Gísladóttir
60 minutes Svanhildur Þengilsdóttir and Tonie Sørensen
65 minutes Jóhanna Eiríksdóttir and Karl Gíslason
70 minutes Helga Árnadóttir

Half marathon

1 hour og 35 minutes Ingvar Hjartarson
1 hour og 40 minutes Jóhanna S. Ólafs and Einar G. Guðmundsson 
1 hour og 45 minutes Benedikt Sigurðsson and Þorsteinn Tryggvi Másson
1 hour og 50 minutes Friðrik Ármann Guðmundsson and Margrét Elíasdóttir
1 hour og 55 minutes Ragnheiður Sveinbjörnsdóttir

Participants are encouraged to study the setup at the start and finish area in Lækjargata, specially the pace areas at the start.

The Islandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon is organized by Reykjavik Sports Union, a union of sports clubs in Reykjavik. Other events organized by the Reykjavik Sports Union are: Laugavegur Ultra Marathon in July, Suzuki Midnight Sun Run in June, Reykjavik International Games in January and the Northern Lights Run in February.
