Services of ADHD Iceland

The services of ADHD Iceland are available to all residents of the country. The association currently has over five thousand members, and one membership covers all family members — as ADHD symptoms are common within families.

It is estimated that up to 25,000 people in Iceland live with ADHD, including approximately 10,000 children and 15,000 adults. A large number have neither received a diagnosis nor access to the resources that could significantly improve their quality of life. Effective interventions could greatly reduce societal costs, such as those related to school dropout, substance use, bullying, disability, medication use, and various health problems.

ADHD Iceland provides members, the general public, professionals, and public institutions with counselling, educational materials, and information, all free of charge. In addition, the association offers a variety of courses, educational meetings, and strong publishing activities. Take part with Team ADHD in the Íslandsbanki Reykjavík Marathon!

The Íslandsbanki Reykjavík Marathon takes place in August, as usual, and thousands of runners participate to support charitable organizations across the country. The runners’ fundraising is an important source of income for ADHD Iceland and can have a decisive impact on the organization’s activities.

Last year, over ISK 800,000 was raised, and runners of all ages ran on our behalf!

This year, we aim even higher. We continue to encourage all supporters to run under the banners #TeamADHD, #TakkADHD, and #Snillingar. There is no need to run far to take part — whether it is 3 km, 5 km, 10 km, a half marathon, or a full marathon, everyone can participate, and the whole family is welcome to join Team ADHD.
