This year we offer all the charities signed up on the hlaupastyrkur.is/en website to take part in a challenge to where they can spread the word about their cause and challenge their supporters to run for them for 2 hours and 17 minutes. The Treadmill Challenge takes place in Reebok Fitness in Holtagardar Reykjavik on Sunday August 22nd at 14:00.

The Islandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon has many great sponsors and some of them want to offer runners some great discounts despite the race not officially taking place this year. Get more information here.

In the past few months, the Reykjavik Sport Union has been organising the Islandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon according to guidelines from the national authorities. Unfortunately, recent changes have made it impossible for us to go forward with this event, which was supposed to happen the 22nd of August, and fulfil the most resent requirements of the Department of Civil Protection and Emergency Management which went into effect on the 31st of July.

In collaboration with the Department of Civil Protection, efforts are being made so that the Islandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon can take place this summer. More information is expected soon.

The Islandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon 2020 will take place on Saturday, August 22nd. We will keep monitoring the instructions given by the officials.

Registration for the 2020 Islandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon, that will be held for the 37th time on August 22nd is now open. The race consists of five different distances so people of all age groups and fitness levels should be able to find a suitable distance.
