Bergið Headspace opened in 2019 and provides free counselling and support for young people aged 12–25. Young people can contact us and receive an appointment with a counsellor quickly, either in person or through online sessions.

Our team consists of professionals with experience working with young people. Our goal is to offer a warm and safe environment where young people can talk about their wellbeing and receive support before problems become more serious.

At any given time around 400–500 young people are receiving support from Bergið, and approximately 120 young people attend sessions each week.

The organisation relies partly on the support of the public and companies. Support from runners in the Reykjavik Marathon is vital for Bergið’s work and helps us continue providing free support to young people across Iceland. Everyone who runs for Bergið receives a Bergið running shirt and we aim to create a strong and supportive atmosphere around our runners.
