Oru mission at Reykjadalur is to offer a variety of opportunities where children and young people can enjoy themselves on their own terms. Friendship is an important part of our mission with the aim to enable all to establish friendships amoung peers.
Since 1963, a summer camp has been run by Gló Support Society at Reykjadalur in Mosfellsdalur. Summer and weekend stays are offered for disabled children and young people in Mosfellsdalur all year round. In addition, there are camps for children with ADHD, autism and mental challenges and a variety of social activities and peer support for young disabled people and their families. A total of about 400 children and young people use the various programs run by Reykjadalur each year.
The dining hall has long been the heart of Reykjadalur – a place of laughter, friendship and countless shared moments. But the facilities in the old building no longer meet the needs of our guests or modern accessibility standards. Help us launch the first phase of a new extension: a dining hall that is accessible, welcoming and designed for everyone.
