All the runners that finish the race will receive a medal. The top three runners in 10 km, 21,1 km and 42,2 km will also receive special awards. These prizes will be handed out at the stage at the finishing area in Laekjargata after the race.
The top three male and female runners in the 10 km, 21,1 km and 42,2 km will receive a money prize. A special money prize will also be awarded to the first three Icelandic runners. The prize money will be paid in Icelandic krona's (ISK).
If the race record in the marathon or half marathon is broken a record bonus will be paid. The bonus is 100.000 ISK for a marathon race record and 50.000 ISK for a half marathon race record. The record holders in the marathon are Ceslovas Kundrotas (LTU) 2:17:06 (male) and Angharad Mair (GBR) 2:38:47 (female). Benjamin Serem (KEN) is the record holder in half marathon male 1:04:09 and Martha Ernstdóttir (ISL) has the record in half marathon female 1:11:40.
All prize winners will get a 66° North accessory.
The first three male and female runners in the 10 km race, half marathon and marathon will receive a trophy.
The first team in the team competition of the 10 km run, half marathon and marathon will get prizes. The prizes for the team competition will be handed out at the Reykjavik Marathon office in Laugardalur from the first Tuesday after the race. The first runner in each age group to finish a timed distance will get a prize. The prizes for the age groups competition will be handed out at Reykjavik Marathon office on Engjavegur 6 in Laugardalur from the first Tuesday after the race.
