The Memorial Fund of the guitarist Kristján Eldjárn (1972-2002) gives yearly generous awards to outstanding musicians in order to increase their opportunities to work on interesting musical projects.

The Memorial Fund was founded by Kristján Eldjárn's family, his friends and co-workers after his death on April 22nd 2002.
