Trans Iceland was founded in the year 2007 and has been active ever since. Trans Iceland is a community-led trans rights advocacy organization for trans people in Iceland and has throughout the years been the main advocacy organization for trans people in Iceland. Trans Iceland works closely with other queer organizations in Iceland and is an interest member of Samtökin '78.
