The charity “Léttum þeim lífið” has set their goal to raise money to support the elderly and disabled. They are raising money for equipment purchases that the Icelandic Sjúkratryggingar Íslands / Tryggingastofnun has denied and refused. These equipment are designed to facilitate physical activity, ease their lives, and enable them to live their own lives. Léttum þeim lífið wants to draw attention to the cost of purchasing specialised equipment.  The cost can vary from a hundred thousand to several millions. Costs that both the disabled and elderly are in no position to cover and should not have to!
